Section 15
The employment relationship will continue during the period of redundancy
: (1) If any special situation arises at the workplace, the employer can suspend the work and keep the workers on redundancy. Explanation: For the purposes of this section, "special circumstances" means a situation in which there is a lack of electricity, water, raw materials or financial resources, or a situation beyond one's control in which it is impossible to reach or work at the workplace or the workplace cannot operate.
(2) In the event that a worker is on standby as per sub-section (1), the employment relationship between such worker and the employer shall continue.
(3) An employer employing ten or more workers may keep the workers on standby for fifteen days according to sub-section (1), but if they need to be kept on standby for more than that time, they must consult with the official TED Union or the Labor Relations Committee.
(4) Other arrangements related to keeping the workers in reserve shall be as prescribed.
